An interesting article came out on Thursday, May 09, 2019 edition of The Christian Post, with the article titled, "Rome opens up exorcism course to all major Christian faiths to fight rising demonic forces." I was curious as to what Rome was opening up to the laity. I do know that the traditional exorcist training got impacted in Rome by the laity, forcing exorcists wanting to take the training to be forced to wait. Having Roman Catholic clergy in these courses is nothing new. The book The Rite, which fueled the non-congruent book of the film of the same title, was written by Matt Baglio. Matt is one of those lay people who took the course and his book followed on the training of a fellow student, and RC exorcist, (Northern California diocese) , Father Gary Thomas. So what is being offered in this training is not something new. Of course, this article sparked my curiosity. I was wondering, "why would Rome offer training The Rite to other denominations?" In order for other faiths to practice the Rite, the precedence in this training is that they would need to become Catholic.
My thoughts are compiled on the accompanying video.
