 Genesis 11:7-8  God dispersed the nations at the Tower of Babel.

⁷ Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another's speech.” ⁸ So the Lord dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city.

 

Deuteronomy 32:8 God divided the nations amongst the sons of God (regional spirits)

⁸ When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance,
    when he divided mankind,
he fixed the borders of the peoples
    according to the number of the sons of God.

 

Exodus 12:12 God brought judgment to the gods of Egypt (wicked ruling spirits)

 ¹² For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord.

 

 Daniel 10:13 the Prince of Persia a regional spirit over Persia

¹³ The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia,

 

Ephesians 6:12 the Apostle Paul is pointing back to the spirits in Deuteronomy 32:8

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

 

 Hebrews 2:9 we were created lesser than angels

⁹ But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

All the years I have been doing this ministry I have NEVER had to hold a person down to the ground or constrain them. When I talk about binding spirits, I bind them with prayer. This means the spirits are ordered not to move in the authority of Jesus Christ. In light of some horrible exorcisms I have read about in the news lately. There was a horrible fatality that happened near me last month in San Jose, Ca. A child died from a botched exorcism where the child was constrained and died. All spirits respond to the authority of Jesus Christ.  You don't constrain people!
