TOG - Fireside Chat - Is Christian Ghost Hunting a Sin? Ep 22

Special Tales of Glory Fireside chat edition, a demonologist released a video on his Facebook account, asking if Christian ghost hunting was a sin. He invited responses and comments. The content was so unbiblical and full of holes I felt a response was necessary. What does the Bible say about Christians who ghost hunt (spiritism)? I provide the scripture and fill in the blanks where the demonologist provided a very vague and unbiblical argument.
So kick back in your easy chair, stoke the fire in the fireplace and grab you cocoa. It's time for a fireside chat on how ghost hunting is a sin!

The demonologist quotes Deuteronomy chapter 18, verses  09 -12. But only reads
Deuteronomy 18:9-11

Abominable Practices

9 “When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer
11 or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead,

He doesn't read verse 12, nor does he read the rest of the Law on abominable practices, and these are:

Deuteronomy 18:12-14
12 for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.
13 You shall be blameless before the Lord your God,
14 for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

Deuteronomy 18:9-14 consulting the dead in any way is an abomination to God!
Leviticus 20:6-9 seeking mediums, God will cut you off!
1 Chronicles 10:13-14 Saul's transgression against God was communicating with the dead.
Matthew 7:21-23 Jesus - I never knew you!

TOG - A Field Guide to Advanced Spiritual Warfare - Chapter 04 - Forgiveness Ep 21

In this episode, Tales of Glory - Advanced Field Guide to Spiritual Warfare - Chapter 04, we're diving back into our topic of deliverance and exorcism. The subject for this podcast is forgiveness. Here we examine why basic forgiveness deliverance ministry often fails to bring healing. Why do corporate forgiveness rituals fail? Why should you understand the difference between deliverance and inner healing? In this podcast we investigate the darker challenges of forgiveness. Are you dealing with demonic oppression or dissociative identity disorder (D.I.D.). Is D.I.D demonic? What role does forgiveness play in deliverance ministry, exorcism, and inner healing?

Some exciting topics in this installment of Tales of Glory.

Poor yourself some coffee, cocoa, or whatever beverage it is you relax by the fireplace with and tune in. We're examining topics in deliverance ministry and exorcism.

Saint Teresa of Avila - Interior Castle Fifth Mansions Chapter 01

Tales of Glory dives into Santa Teresa of Avila's Fifth Mansions Chapter 01. We are entering the Teresan Third Water stage of mystical prayer. In this episode we are edified by Saint Teresa with her fifth mansion experiences of union with God. How does the soul know this union takes place? What is certitude of the soul? And she warns us of being on guard with these experiences from our soul and satan fabricating false union experiences. Pull up your cozy lounge chair next to the fireplace. Pour your self your favorite beverage and sit back as the Doctor of Prayer of the Catholic Church edifies us in these amazing experiences with God in our interior life.

Notes on Fifth Mansions Chapter 01 No. 7 - the deep feeling on union

The Way of Perfection Ch 31 No. 10

This is a supernatural state, and, however hard we try, we cannot reach it for ourselves; for it is a state in which the soul enters into peace, or rather in which the Lord gives it peace through His presence, as He did to that just man Simeon.106 In this state all the faculties are stilled. The soul, in a way which has nothing to do with the outward senses, realizes that it is now very close to its God, and that, if it were but a little closer, it would become one with Him through union. This is not because it sees Him either with its bodily or with its spiritual eyes. The just man Simeon saw no more than the glorious Infant—a poor little Child, Who, to judge from the swaddling-clothes in which He was wrapped and from the small number of the people whom He had as a retinue to take Him up to the Temple, might well have been the son of these poor people rather than the Son of his Heavenly Father. But the Child Himself revealed to him Who He was. Just so, though less clearly, does the soul know Who He is. It cannot understand how it knows Him, yet it sees that it is in the Kingdom (or at least is near to the King Who will give it the Kingdom), and it feels such reverence that it dares to ask nothing. It is, as it were, in a swoon, both inwardly and outwardly, so that the outward man (let me call it the “body”, and then you will understand me better) does not wish to move, but rests, like one who has almost reached the end of his journey, so that it may the better start again upon its way, with redoubled strength for its task.

The body experiences the greatest delight and the soul is conscious of a deep satisfaction. So glad is it merely to find itself near the fountain that, even before it has begun to drink, it has had its fill. There seems nothing left for it to desire. The faculties are stilled and have no wish to move, for any movement they may make appears to hinder the soul from loving God. They are not completely lost, however, since, two of them being free, they can realize in Whose Presence they are. It is the will that is in captivity now; and, if while in this state it is capable of experiencing any pain, the pain comes when it realizes that it will have to resume its liberty. The mind tries to occupy itself with only one thing, and the memory has no desire to busy itself with more: they both see that this is the one thing needful and that anything else will unsettle them. Persons in this state prefer the body to remain motionless, for otherwise their peace would be destroyed: for this reason they dare not stir. Speaking is a distress to them: they will spend a whole hour on a single repetition of the Paternoster. They are so close to God that they know they can make themselves understood by signs. They are in the palace, near to their King, and they see that He is already beginning to give them His Kingdom on earth. Sometimes tears come to their eyes, but they weep very gently and quite without distress: their whole desire is the hallowing of this name. They seem not to be in the world, and have no wish to see or hear anything but their God; nothing distresses them, nor does it seem that anything can possibly do so. In short, for as long as this state lasts, they are so overwhelmed and absorbed by the joy and delight which they experience that they can think of nothing else to wish for, and will gladly say with Saint Peter: “Lord, let us make here three mansions.”

Notes on Fifth Mansions Chapter 01 No. 7 Spiritual Directors

Life Chapter 5 No. 3

Life Chapter 13 No. 19

Life Chapter 25 No. 22

Life Chapter 18 p 20 (I believe it is really 21-22)

21. He who begins is in need of instruction, whereby he may ascertain what profits him most. For this end 99it is very necessary he should have a director, who ought to be a person of experience; for if he be not, he will make many mistakes, and direct a soul without understanding its ways, or suffering it to understand them itself; for such a soul, knowing that obedience to a director is highly meritorious, dares not transgress the commandments it receives. I have met with souls cramped and tormented, because he who directed them had no experience: that made me sorry for them. Some of them knew not what to do with themselves; for directors who do not understand the spirit of their penitents afflict them soul and body, and hinder their progress.195

22. One person I had to do with had been kept by her director for eight years, as it were, in prison; he would not allow her to quit the subject of self-knowledge; and yet our Lord had already raised her to the prayer of quiet; so she had much to suffer.

How do justification, sanctification, and repentance play a key role in salvation and proper spiritual alignment? We dive into these topics and examine them in detail. Why does it take more than simply reciting the sinner's prayer to be truly saved? Some exciting topics in this installment of Tales of Glory.

Poor yourself some coffee, cocoa, or whatever beverage it is you relax by the fireplace with and tune in. We're examining topics in deliverance ministry and exorcism. The show wraps up with Q & A from the listeners on regional spirits and dealing with expelling demons.

Saint Teresa of Avila - Interior Castle Fourth Mansions Chapter 03

Tales of Glory wraps up the Fourth Mansions of the Interior Castle as we explore Chapter 03. Supernatural Recollection, the mystical experience in prayer of the presence of God. In this chapter, Saint Teresa explains the infused prayer experience that nearly always occurs before the prayer of Quiet and divine consolations. The saint gives us some advice on what to do since in the Fourth Mansions we're new to the mystical experiences that God graces the soul that deeply seeks Him.

Fourth Mansions Chapter 03 Supernatural Recollection

Life XIV - The Second State of Prayer - It's Supernatural Character

1. Having spoken of the toilsome efforts and of the strength required for watering the garden when we have to draw the water out of the well, let us now speak of the second manner of drawing the water, which the Lord of the vineyard has ordained; of the machine of wheel and buckets whereby the gardener may draw more water with less labour, and be able to take some rest without being continually at work. This, then, is what I am now going to describe; and I apply it to the prayer called the prayer of quiet.

2. Herein the soul begins to be recollected; it is now touching on the supernatural—for it never could by any efforts of its own attain to this. True, it seems at times to have been wearied at the wheel, labouring with the understanding, and filling the buckets; but in this second degree the water is higher, and accordingly the labour is much less than it was when the water had to be drawn up out of the well; I mean, that the water is nearer to it, for grace reveals itself more distinctly to the soul.

3. This is a gathering together of the faculties of the soul within itself, in order that it may have the fruition of that contentment in greater sweetness; but the faculties are not lost, neither are they asleep: the will alone is occupied in such a way that, without knowing how it has become a captive, it gives a simple consent to become the prisoner of God; for it knows well what is to be the captive of Him it loves. O my Jesus and my Lord, how pressing now is Thy love! (2 Corinthians 5 v. 14: "Charitas enim Christi urget nos." - For Christ’s love compels us, since we have reached this conclusion: If One died for all, then all died.) It binds our love in bonds so straitly, that it is not in its power at this moment to love anything else but Thee.

On the experience of Supernatural Recollection

8. It seems absurd to say this, seeing that we know that God understands us always, and is present with us. It is so, and there can be no doubt of it; but our Emperor and Lord will have us now understand that He understands us; and also have us understand what His presence bringeth about, and that He means in a special way to begin a work in the soul, which is manifested in the great joy, inward and outward, which He communicates, and in the difference there is, as I said just now, between this joy and delight and all the joys 107of earth; for He seems to be filling up the void in our souls occasioned by our sins.

9. This satisfaction lies in the innermost part of the soul, and the soul knows not whence, nor how, it came, very often it knows not what to do, or wish, or pray for. It seems to find all this at once, and knoweth not what it hath found; nor do I know how to explain it, because learning is necessary for many things. Here, indeed, learning would be very much to the purpose, in order to explain the general and particular helps of grace; for there are many who know nothing about them. Learning would serve to show how our Lord now will have the soul to see, as it were, with the naked eye, as men speak, this particular help of grace, and be also useful in many other ways wherein I am likely to go astray. But as what I write is to be seen by those who have the learning to discover whether I make mistakes or not, I go on without anxiety; for I know I need have none whatever about either the letter or the spirit, because it is in their power to whom it is to be sent to do with it as they will: they will understand it, and blot out whatever may be amiss.

10. I should like them to explain this, because it is a principal point, and because a soul, when our Lord begins to bestow these graces upon it, does not understand them, and does not know what to do with itself; for if God leads it by the way of fear, as He led me, its trial will be heavy, if there be no one who understands the state it is in; and to see itself as in a picture is a great comfort; and then it sees clearly that it is travelling on that road. The knowledge of what it has to do is a great blessing for it, so that it may advance forwards in every one of these degrees of prayer; for I have suffered greatly, and lost much time, because I did not know what to do; and I am very sorry for those souls who find themselves alone when they come to this state; for though I read many spiritual books, wherein this very matter is discussed, they threw very little 108light upon it. And if it be not a soul much exercised in prayer, it will find it enough to understand its state, be the books ever so clear.

11. I wish much that our Lord would help me to describe the effects on the soul of these things, now that they begin to be supernatural, so that men might know by these effects whether they come from the Spirit of God. I mean, known as things are known here below—though it is always well to live in fear, and on our guard; for even if they do come from God, now and then the devil will be able to transform himself into an angel of light;204 and the soul, if not experienced herein, will not understand the matter; and it must have so much experience for the understanding thereof, that it is necessary it should have attained to the highest perfection of prayer.

Tales of Glory - We continue into the Third Mansions!  Souls in Third Mansions are far along in their prayer life. We are walking with a high degree of self-confidence, and presume we have our prayer life all figured out. And then, we start experience horrible dryness in prayer. Our buckets at the well are coming up empty and we are no longer having the experiences in prayer we once had. Saint Teresa counsels us through this terrain of prayer aridity.

Tales of Glory - Interior Castle Third Mansions Chapter 01

Tales of Glory - We enter the Third Mansions!
We have persevered through the first two mansions. Now Saint Teresa identifies another destination ahead in our interior prayer life development and our deeper union with God. The soul enters into the third mansions, where we experience aridity and trials, that make us wonder what God is doing. Saint Teresa guides us through the soul's development of humility as it weathers this dryness in prayer. The soul learns it must choose to love Jesus deeper, where it's develops a relational maturity that loving Jesus is far more important than desiring spiritual consolations in prayer.

Tales of Glory - Analyzing Voodoo Spirits and the GA Episode Home Invasion

In this episode of Tales of Glory -REDUX- edition podcast, we look at voodoo and the recent episode of Ghost Adventures, 'Home Invasion". About the voodoo witch spirit that infests Aaron Goodwin's old home. More important, what do you the pastor do when a member of the church body tells you there house has a demonic voodoo infestation?

I've been ignoring GA more and more lately because of its level of darkness is reaching an all time low. They're satanists. The crew doesn't call themselves that, but it's what they are. And they're actions reveal it. This episode of GA has some revelations on the current readiness of the Christian Church on dealing with the demonic and witchcraft. We are not to RUN from it. In this episode, Aaraon's father Dan, admits his pastor and friend could not help him with the matter of the demonic infestation of Dan Goodwin's home. M16 Ministries, from it's early days, was literally thrown into battles with voodoo, No one shadowed me, or trained me. God brought the fight to my ministry, literally. I didn't advertise or ask for it. The Holy Spirit trained me. In this podcast I want to speak out and make comments on what to do when this supernatural battle hits the pews of your church.

Remember, there is no methodology in this. It's all about who you are in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit directs you in these battles!!!

Tales of Glory - Interior Castle First Mansions Chapter 02

After some hiatus and a little quarantine time in between, Tales of Glory - Interior Castle First Mansions Chapter 02!
Let's dive into this classic manuscript on prayer and see what the Saint has to say on developing your interior life. We are in First mansions, where we just entered the castle and the soul is beginning to learn to pray. Or as the Saint says, the soul opens into itself through prayer.
In chapter 02, Saint Teresa wants to warn us about the dangers of mortal sin, before we move into deeper mansions. We must address our sinful nature, before advancing through the castle. Otherwise, the venomous vipers and reptiles, our own sinful natures we allowed in with us will draw us back out!
